Orig: Provide technical assistance on wildfire prevention planning and wildfire education and outreach for the IPIF-HWMO partnership and regional stakeholders as requested across the life of the agreement
Mod 1: Fire Monitoring in HI and USAPI: Provide annual data on wildfires and updates to fire maps for Palau, Yap, Guam, and CNMI (Rota and Tinnian) database – completed annually and due by March 31 each year for the preceeding year.
Mod 2: Extend funding and timeline for Fire Monitoring in HI and USAPI
Mod 3: Conduct regular monitoring of wildfire activities across designated Western Pacific Islands (e.g. Micronesia and American Samoa)
Mod 3: Utilize GIS tools and satellite imagery to map wildfire extents and identify high-risk areas;
Mod 3: Collaborate with local authorities and community stakeholders to gather relevant data and ensure accurate reporting; and, assist in the development of value-added products (e.g. fact sheets, presentations, web pages) upon request.
Mod 3: Maintain detailed records of wildfire observations, mapping activities, and any relevant data collected; prepare regular reports summarizing wildfire trends and mapping results; and present findings to project stakeholders.
Orig: Particpate in quarterly meetings and annual in person meetings for the IPIF-HWMO partnership.
Mod 2: Scope the need and process for the potential development of a CWPP in Palau
Orig: Facilitate and develop the Palau National Wildfire Prevention Plan with guidance and input from the Palau Network for Wilidfire Prevention.
Orig: Provide a final draft Palau National Wildfire Prevention Plan to the Network for Wildfire Prevention prior to the end of this agreement.
